West Africa - This was all part of the unplanned itinerary and while I mostly expected we would come this route, I didn't know that we'd go into Pirate defense mode and have to keep our cabin curtains closed while guards patrolled the upper decks at night with the exterior lights off. It is almost June! Can you believe it?! Sometimes I wonder about what you all are thinking as you've been reading this from your normal lives. My sister recently commented that I will have a difficult time acclimating to "real life" when I get back, but honestly, knowing that I'm headed back to Europe for a few more months this fall helps with not thinking about what "real life" will be defined as whenever I decide to "settle down" again.
